This seminar will explore the links between children's early experience, their emotional well-being and their performance in school. It will be of great interest to teachers, counsellors, therapists and all those working with children. Specifically, the seminar will address such issues as:
- Attachment theory as a framework for understanding social and emotional development
- Behaviour as communication
- Patterns of behaviour and how they affect learning
- School as a secure base
- Ways to support those working with children in schools
There will be an opportunity for discussion and reference to clinical work.
