This seminar will explore the links between children's early experience, their emotional well-being and their performance in school. It will be of great interest to teachers, counsellors, therapists and all those working with children. Specifically, the seminar will address such issues as:

  • Attachment theory as a framework for understanding social and emotional development
  • Behaviour as communication
  • Patterns of behaviour and how they affect learning
  • School as a secure base
  • Ways to support those working with children in schools

There will be an opportunity for discussion and reference to clinical work.

A Day in the Life of a Donated Fridge

A team of trained volunteers and staff repair, test and clean donated fridges and freezers at our Recycling Retail Warehouse. Here's what happens to get a donated fridge on to the shop floor rather than going to landfill.

1. Mrs Jones is very proud of her new fridge but she is concerned. Her old fridge works perfectly well, so she doesn’t want to send it to be dumped in landfill.1.
