Sussex Central YMCA Housing Services

Housing AdvisorHousing AdvisorIf you are homeless or having problems in your current housing, Sussex Central YMCA can help. We have an excellent record of providing help to people in difficult housing situations across Brighton, Hove and Sussex and our specialist staff are trained to help you when you need it most.

How we can help:

  • Housing Advice: At our friendly drop-in centre in central Brighton our friendly advisors can help you with any housing issue.
  • Tenancy Support: Advice and support after you've moved to help you stay in the warm.
  • Relocation: If you are homeless and are looking for a new start elsewhere in the country then we can help you make this move smoothly.
  • Supported Housing: Information about our housing schemes which can be accessed through referrals from our partners across the city. Our hostels are not for backpackers but are to provide young people with safe and secure accommodation and any extra support that they need.

For more information visit us at Ovest House (see drop-in times) or call us on 01273 828828. Click here for a map and directions.

Sussex Nightstop Plus

Call for volunteer hosts in Brighton & Hove!

Do you have a spare bedroom in your house or flat that is only occasionally occupied? Would you be interested in participating in a new local initiative that aims to reduce youth homelessness in Brighton & Hove?

When a young person loses their accommodation it can lead to breakdown in many areas of their life including relationships, education and employment. You could make a difference to young people by offering a safe alternative to emergency accommodation or homelessness.

Sussex Nightstop Plus are looking to recruit volunteers from within the community to reflect the diversity of young people in our City.

You would be required to make available a spare room on a night by night basis for an agreed time period. Hosts will be valued members of a Nightstop community and receive intensive support as well as training and expenses.

If you are interested in making a difference, and would like to receive more information or have an informal chat please email Ruth Bogg Sussex Nightstop Co-ordinator at ruth.almabogg@sussexcentralymca.org.uk or call on 01273 828828.
