The Y Centre was opened in November 2005 and has been housing and helping young people ever since.
The Y Centre has 48 rooms and 2 emergency rooms. A single room consists of a bedroom, a kitchen and en suite shower-room. Young people can stay at the Y Centre for up to 2 years.
The Y Centre does more than house young people, it also aims to support their development and transition into adulthood. The housing support workers help the residents with basic living skills such as cooking and cleaning, and when needed offer emotional support.
The focus of the work is to help develop the young people’s skills and confidence so that they can move on from supported accommodation and live independently.

A new addition to the Y Centre is the Horsham Connexions Centre for Young People which provides advice on a variety of subjects including sexual health, physical health, housing, benefits and employment, education and training.
