We are pleased to announce that YMCA Sussex Central’s Youth Advice Centre (YAC) has moved from Hove and merged with our Housing Advice and is now based at Ovest House in Brighton.
Now, young people in Brighton & Hove can access more services under one roof!
To celebrate this move YAC are organising a launch event on Thursday 8th May, 12.30pm – 3pm. Along with meeting staff, seeing the newly refurbished drop-in and finding out about the services, there will be a raffle too which includes a meal at a local pub.
YAC at Ovest will continue to be the single point of access for 16-25 year olds for housing advice, opening Monday to Friday, 9am – 12pm.
Between 3pm – 6pm the drop-in will open for general advice offering young people aged 13-25 years old advice and support on a range of issues, such as sexual health & relationships, work & learning, emotional & listening support, benefits & money and much more.
In addition to these drop-ins, a number of other brilliant services will run from YAC, such as MACS (Money Advice and Community Support), YES (Youth Employability Service), drugs services CRI & ru-ok?, TAPA (Mental health Teen to Adult Personal Advisor) RISE (domestic abuse charity) and many more to come.
